The Rintod Story: Designing for the Shared Adventure

Rintod began in the heart of our home, inspired by my son, Edward. In his world, comfort is found in a "Tomo" (トモ)—the Japanese word for friend. This spirit of companionship, of having a constant ally in a big and wondrous world, is the foundation of everything we do. As I navigated the beautiful, often exhausting reality of the early years, I realized that parenthood needs its own "Tomo," too.

The Meaning Behind the Name

We wanted a name that captured the specific magic of the sanctuary we build for our children. Rintod is a fusion of two worlds:

  • Rin (輪): The Japanese symbol for a circle or ring, representing our community and the "Tomo" philosophy.
  • Tod: A traditional name for the clever, protective fox who finds sanctuary and warmth in the embrace of the Tomo Bear.

The Mission: Lightening the Load, Sweetening the Day

The early years of childhood are filled with unparalleled happiness, but they are also heavy with the "invisible labor" of daily life. Between the endless chores and the mental load of modern parenting, the joy can sometimes feel buried under the logistics.

Rintod was founded to support this shared journey. We are a brand dedicated to childhood and parenthood in equal measure. We believe that by creating solutions that make the daily routine a little smoother, we give families the space to truly enjoy the ride.

The Rintod Philosophy: Joy + Ease

Every product we design in the Rintod Studio or hand-select from a global partner must pass a singular test. We don’t believe a solution has to be ours to be perfect—but it must meet our two-fold commitment to the shared adventure:

  • To Ease the Load: We seek out ways to reduce the friction of daily life. If a solution helps lighten the mental or physical burden of parenthood—through clever engineering or intuitive design—it belongs here.
  • To Spark Joy: We believe the tools of daily life should do more than just function; they should delight. We look for the "sweeteners"—the playful details and beautiful aesthetics that bring a sense of magic back to the ordinary.

Our Direction: An Evolving Exploration

Rintod is an evolving laboratory of family life. We operate in Series, allowing us to follow our curiosity and address the "adventure gaps" of early family life as we find them. From portability and protection to organization and rest, we are here to support the small moments that make the big journey worth it.
